Join us Thursday, February 26 from 10:30 am - 2:30 p.m. for a Whale Bones Art Class!
TWM and the Alchemy Art Center are partnering to launch a new series of artistic workshops, “Digging Into Bones”! This series will feature fun, exciting workshops focusing on different skeleton and bone themes. For this first class, come spend an afternoon of creativity with us here at TWM as we explore the intricate details of whale bones & skeletons with an experienced artist. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced artist, this class is perfect for anyone looking to enhance their drawing and observational skills in an inspiring environment while learning about what makes these animals so perfectly adapted to their ocean home. To make this class even more lively, wine and snacks will be provided. While participants are welcome to bring their own favorite supplies, TWM will provide paper, pencils with erasers & clipboards! This class is open to everyone so come join us as we bring the anatomical beauty of whales to paper!
About the Artist: This first class will be guided by Maria Michaelson, who is the founder and Executive Director of Alchemy Art Center, where she leads the organization’s growth and programming in service of expanding access to the arts. With a BFA from California College of the Arts and a background as an exhibiting artist, Maria continues both her studio and teaching practice alongside her work for the organization. Maria has extensive experience in figure & still life drawing.
