Proceeds from orca adoptions support ongoing education, research and public outreach on behalf of the Southern Resident Community of killer whales.
Joy is the second offspring of Matia (L-77). She was first seen on May 29, 2012. She is a spunky whale and is sometimes seen playing with her two cousins, Windsong (L-121) and Cousteau (L-113). She and her mother are often seen near Mystery (L-85).
In January 2019, Joy became a sister to her new sibling, L-124, first seen in Puget Sound in January. It is hoped this calf will grow as Joy has and the two will be seen together in the future.
