Star is the first offspring of Polaris (J-28), seen for the first time passing by Lime Kiln Lighthouse on November 11, 2009. Her actions in 2016 epitomized Southern Resident behavior in that as her mother, Polaris was perishing and still nursing her little bother one year old Dipper J-54, Star was seen both bringing her mother salmon and pushing baby Dipper up for air. She was only seven years old. Star is a star.
