Lulu (L-53) was named in 1983 during a contest in Victoria, B.C. to give names to all the whales in L Pod. This contest was part of a campaign to stop a Canadian permit which would have allowed capture of orcas for public display. Partly as a result of this effort, these whales are now protected from further capture in both the U.S. and Canada. Learn more about Lulu (L-53), her playfulness, her family and her other behaviors recorded by those who loved her.

Collect all of the Storykeepers whales! The Storykeepers Series Collection honors Southern Resident Orcas who have gone before by Keeping Their Stories Alive.
