Grace (L-2) was an easy whale to identify because she had two small nicks near the tip of her dorsal fin, and a more noticeable nick at mid-fin. Her saddle patch was very open on both sides. Grace (L-2) had four offspring and her family was always a very cohesive group. She was the grandmother to Luna (L-98) who became separated from L Pod in 2001 and is the subject of a movie and a book.
